Say what?

Now that i have myself a mic it is more liekely i will be particpating in TS conversations a little more. This poses a problem though - my slightly dodgy Barnsley/Sheffield accent.

Key Bindings and other stuff :D

Continuing on from the UI posts (for which i will post a proper blog in the future, probably when i sort my rogue UI out) i decided to expand on it a little to include keybindings.

Well ... seeing as it is Addon Month!

Some useful adds and other confusing stuff :)

Hey gang,

Your friendly neighbourhood shammy Exo here with a nice quick blog update (been a while) and some useful information. Life has once again taken an increase in work load, being a busy uni student, and this term may see me being online a little less frequently dependant on how much i have to do. Hopefully i should be able to make appearances here and there but deadlines may have some effect on this.

I'm mainly updating over 2 very useful and quick applications i found called Rankwatch and Gearscore...

It's Lemmings UI month!

it's february and it's Lemmings User Interface Month! This month I'd like to see you upload a screenshot of your (main) character with a list of all the addons you use. And the answer to the question: if you find yourself stranded, with WoW, in an internetcafé, what addon would you bring with you on your USB stick? I'll be curious to see what you guys come up with.

A while ago we had a question round/contest for new questions for our application form. After three new applications I have to say I love a lot of the new questions, but the one question that measures Lemmingness really well is: "What is one of your fondest in-game experiences?". This question is a mix between update of the "noobiest thing" question (Spitbeard), Garalia's suggestion "When was the last time you did something really stupid or funny in the game, and what was it", and Exodius's "What's the nicest thing you've done in game?".
So we have 3 winners whom I'll each send 50g as a little thankyou Smile

Other stuff to look forward to this february: I hope to organise a run or two to Naxxramas/Ulduar (if I can squeeze it in my personal schedule) for Gorthos, Zacharus, and other new guildies and alts. And mid-february we're going to organise a fun event as has been suggested in our PR forum: Hug-a-Lemming-day!

What are your ingame goals for february? Smile

Some guildbank changes

Yesterday me and Spitbeard, with help from Elminda, restocked guildbank with valuable upgrade items, like leg armor patches. As we had one practically unused tab, I have also moved some things around.

We now have the following bank setup:
1: Free for all. For trading items long-distance (through banks), and for miscellaneous items.
2: "Alts" (temporary name), items for rep, crafting, cheap upgrades for your alts, bags. (See picture above)
3: recipies
4: raid reagents (food!)
5: potions and flasks
6: Our Precious: epic items, epic upgrades, valuable items (high lemmings/officers have access)

For the items in tab 5 and 6 we will ask a contribution of 30% of the AH price (epic items included), so we can keep restocking guildbank with items. Donations for items in the other tabs are welcome and encouraged, but not mandatory Smile

A rank is gone.. long live the new rank!

All of you who were online this wednesday have probably already noticed: the counsellor rank is no more. We have decided to make the counsellors High Lemmings, and have the guildies depend on eachother for game advice and input. If you don't know who to ask, ask an officer! We'll know who to point you towards Smile

In the meantime I would just like to thank Daz, Elm, and Alwyn, "last of the counsellors", for being such faithful helpful lemmings. They have rejoined the ranks of the High Lemmings now, which will remain the honorary rank for Lemmings Smile

Invite stop!

in the last few weeks, we have gained a ginormous amount of applications from people wanting to join our guild. So far in january we have received 21 apps. More than one application a day! This puts a strain on the high lemmings and the officers, and me, in judging all these applications fairly.

Besides that, we don't want the guild to be overrun with initiates, just for the sake of getting new guildies; we want people to get acquainted with our game philosophy. We want people that participate in guild events and (this goes without saying) prefer a Lemmings group to a random through the cross-realm looking for group. We want guildies that are given the opportunity to join in on Lemmings events because they feel involved and a part of the guild, not neglected because nobody knows them from the other 100 initiates Wink

Less time for raiding

On june 3rd 2010 i and a few hundred other nutters are gonna climb the famous Alpe d'Huez to raise money for the fight against cancer.

this will mean i have less time to spare and as such might not be available all the time for raiding (i normally go tuesday's wednesdays's and sometimes thursdays)

mind you i wil not be taking a break from WoW, i simply need more time for my other hobby, which is ofcourse cycling.

for people who want to read more about what we do and why we do it go to:
http://www.opgevenisgeenoptie.nl (dutch site)
http://www.opgevenisgeenoptie.nl/over/visieuk.php (english version)

so it wont look like im away from the game as i will be online regurlarly, however i need a strict training routine to be able to climb that mountain more than once Smile

anyway, just wanted to tell this to everyone !

So you want to be a raidleader?

Always imagined yourself as a raid leader? Interested in helping your guild as masterlooter? We want to give you the opportunity to show us your talent Smile

For raid leaders we are looking for lemmings that:
- have a certain kind of seniority within the guild (having at least the rank of lemming within the guild)
- know how to positively motivate the group they lead
- are patient and communicative about problems with guild leadership

For masterlooters we are looking for lemmings that know how to take on responsibility, and will study/apply our loot rules as best as they can by installing the ClassLoot/Loothog addons and keeping themselves updated on all loot related discussions within the guild. Smile

Please whisper any of the officers if you'd like to give either tasks a go! We won't send you off into the deep end but make sure there's always an officer or experienced raidleader/masterlooter present to answer questions and help Smile

praise for Bulldaz

Hi, i would just like to say a big thankyou to Bulldaz.
Last night in icc on the gunship he won the roll on ◦Muradin's Spyglass, but decided that the upgrade was minor for him but was a big improvement for me, despite winning the roll he allowed me to recieve the trinket, as i was the only other person to roll on it.

I can say it is a really nice trink and its buff is constantly up, i hope that Bulldaz gets one soon or something better, and i hope i can return the favour sometime.

Thanks Bulldaz i owe you one.

Guild PR team relaunch

We need YOU!

That's right, the PR Team is back, and looking for volunteers to lend a hand with the planning, organising, and running of events. There are two ways you can do this:

- Sign up to be on the PR Team, or
- Make it known that you're willing to help with the running of events.

Thank you all!

Today at our End-of-year Lemmings initiate jump I was completely taken by surprise by a special thank-you gift for my guildleadership over the past few months: a Mekgineer's Chopper! Now as Grandmaster Engineer I've been able to craft it myself for a very long time, but I never had enough time to grind for the required mats and gold. So I'm really happy with my new chopper, and I want to thank everyone who contributed to the crafting of it from the depths of my heart.
