How to find your way around our website
Last post, I promised to tell you all about how you can find things on the website. The website has been my home on the internet for years, 3 years in it's current form, and I am always surprised to hear people can't find a certain thing
Read more to.. learn more!
The website can be divided into three parts.
- What I call the "knowledgebase", with semi-static pages;
- frontpage articles and blog posts
- the forum
The Knowledgebase
This is where we keep all info that is deemed useful reading in the future. Guides, how-to's, applications (yes, your old application is filed here too
)... in the Lemmings website system, these pages are called "book pages", which can be made fresh as a "child" to another page. The officers can also add pages that are not defined by the website system as "book pages", like blog posts, images, polls, so they are archived. There's an overview of all the pages in this knowledgebase.
Now that I look at it though, it needs some cleaning up and re-arranging
If you want, visit a page, and comment on how you think it could be updated or moved to another section! This will help us maintain the website.
Frontpage
This is where all sorts of articles end up that are sent in; images, polls, blog posts, frontpage posts, guild (friend) applications. Also the never ever used officer contact type!
Blog entries, frontpage articles and polls are all tagged with at least one tag so they are automatically grouped, and the system knows what kind of 'similar content' to tell you about. For example, Pronder's Busy so cannot commit is a Personal announcement; when you're on the comment/full view page, top right you'll get "Similar posts". Posts with the same tag and similar subject.
To make it even easier, these are links to pages which filter all posts with that tag:
- Guild: Games & Contests
- Guild: home-made video's
- Guild: latest news
- Guild: Mr Pinchy's Day Out
- Officers: Announcement
- Officers: Guides (new!)
- Officers: input wanted
- Officers: Request for help! (new!)
- Personal: Announcement
- Personal: request for help!
- Warcraft: Add-ons
- Warcraft: News
- Guild applications (only visible to high lemmings and people of higher rank)
- Guild friend applications (only visible to guildies)
High Lemmings and people of a higher rank will find upon promotion that there's a little "admin box" on the left with links to a few pages on the site that will make it easier for them to help out
There are also event-tags so you can filter all the events you're interested in on the calendar:
- Raid: Classic WoW
- Raid: TBC 10-man
- Raid: TBC 25-man
- Raid: WotLK 10-man
- Raid: WotLK 25-man
- Instance: Classic WoW
- Instance: TBC Normal
- Instance: TBC Heroic
- Instance: WotLK Heroic
- Instance: WotLK Normal
- Fun event: in-game
- Fun event: real life
The forum
Our forums were, when I first wrote this guide, a seperate part of the website. It isn't anymore! But we would still like to keep it as a 'private guild corner' for guildies to discuss things in without prying eyes, and the nature of forums is much flightier than the other content. Therefore, if you post a guide or how-to, we request you post them as a blog post, book page, or frontpage article (if it's a guild-wide news story). This is the forum overview.
Search
The search option is something I use very often. You can look for one word, or multiple words. If you type "Neti Wilgje", you'll find all the content pages where our names are both used. Like google
For some people it may be tricky to dream up the right search words, but you'll get the hang of it
If you don't find what you were looking for, you can click the link 'forum' top right and it'll continue your search in the forums. You can also look for a user on the website by clicking on 'users' there.

Finally, if you're ever looking for something, and the above didn't work for you, feel free to mail me if it's urgent, or send me a PM. I'll go look

Recruitment status
Currently we've limited openings for all classes, all specs. We expect applicants to stick by us as we make the transition into Cataclysm in a little while!
You might also consider becoming a guild friend.
Feel free to post in our guest forums if you have questions about your application or questions about the guild. Please do not use that forum to apply; apply using our application form please
