Karazhan-sign ups and our invite-system

Hey everyone,

I'd like to remind everyone about the reasoning behind our invite-system for Karazhan (the KIL), and why it is important for *you* to sign up for Karazhan in Php-raider. It's a long story, but please read it all, as it is very important to us that you do. (Click read more!)

The KIL was created when we started to do Karazhan runs to prevent the drama's other guilds were having (and are still developing all over the world) when it comes to group make up for raids. We didn't want to put raids up and get the first 10 signing up an invite - that would be unfair to those slower with signing up. We didn't want to put anyone in a position of 'selecting' raiders because that would be too prone to favouritism. In short, we wanted a fair system that would give everyone an equal chance to go to Karazhan (or as equal as possible, because the raid organisers (us) still have to get a group that *works*), so the KIL system was developed.

In this system, you sign up for the runs you are able to come, and 24 hours in advance one of the officers (currently Neti) checks our priority-system to see who has gone more often than others, giving the guildies who haven't been for a while priority. I won't go into the exact workings of our priority system here, as there is enough written about that here.

Unfortunately, even though the guild has grown, we have noticed a decline in sign-ups for runs. People forget to sign up or wait until the very last day to sign up. This makes organising raids not only stressful and difficult for us (as cancelling a raid sucks for guild morale, and we are kept 'in the dark' about whether it will fill up or not), but it also takes away the whole point of the KIL. In short, by not signing up, you're creating a 'first come, first serve' system out of a completely fair system Wink There should be rotation more than there is now. Smile

So here is my new year's request to you: Please sign up for raids when you

  • feel like going; and
  • are able to go that night.

After sign up you can add a note to your sign-up so we know if you expect to be late, expect to come late, or have anything else to share.

We will in turn...

  • put up raids in phpraider, earlier in advance; and
  • (thanks to your help) be able to inform you better about what each run is going to look like.

If there's anything regarding all of this that you have questions about/want to discuss please contact me in private (pm via the site, message in WoW or a whisper) and I'll make a list of things to address Smile

Thank you Smile
