Got sucked into MMOs via City of Heroes, levelling up a Blaster (Mage) and Defender (Priest) with a group of players who'd make lemmings (the small furry ones) look positively cautious, our motto "No Task Force is really complete without a good teamwipe (or ten)." Or the ever popular phrase "What's Bob* doi- oh bugger" - not always the most productive Supergroup but definitely the most fun.
Anywho - CoX died down and someone recommended WoW, one three gig download later and I was swearing up a storm trying to figure out how to move, why nothing happened when I left clicked, and where the helpful little compass and distance meters had gone - oh and why are those giant birds all sparkly now I've killed them?
Had great fun building up my new characters (Hunter and Druid), got invited to a good levelling guild and generally enjoyed it, then got a new job, had to move 200miles and then wait a month for good old BT to pull their fingers out for new internet. Found I didn't have time to keep up with the guild's increased raiding schedule so decided to step out of things.
What actually dragged me back was the lethal combo of an oddly well thought out Secret Santa gift, an incredibly badly written phishing email, and a seven day freebie from Blizzard.
Hope to see you in game!
